This is not happenstance; your safety is our highest priority. All Alaska Mountain Guides' instructors and guides maintain current first aid and rescue skills.

The mountains in Alaska are amongst the special mountain areas in the world. Our headquarters in Haines gives us special access to this unique mountain wilderness. Haines borders Glacier Bay National Park. The Park and the adjacent 27 million acres, including the Wrangell-St Elias National Park, comprise the largest protected wilderness area on the planet. It is an extremely jagged, glaciated, landscape containing several of the largest non-polar ice caps in the world. This terrain is uniquely suited to learning mountaineering skills, and the climbing, trekking and skiing here are truly spectacular!
